24% Income Hike of Aras Free Zone from Attracting Tourists during Norouz
Eighty two percent (82%) of tourists, visited Aras Free Zone during Norouz, expressed their satisfaction from the services presented in this zone.
Adel Najafzadeh the Secretary of the Travel Welfare Headquarters of Aras Free Zone Organization revealed 24% income hike of the zone out of attracting tourists during Norouz 1391 (started March 20, 2012) in comparison with the corresponding figure of the previous year.
He put the estimated income rate collected out of attracting tourists during current Norouz holidays in Aras Free Zone as 118 billion rials, showing 24% growth as compared with the corresponding figure of the previous year.
Increasing statistics of the passengers entered the zone along with adopting approach of developing sports, cultural and welfare services during current Norouz are of the most important reasons which have brought about qualitative promotion of trips during Norouz and consequently more value added.
He pointed out to the various sports programs designed for different ages during Norouz such as flying with light aircraft, carting (car racing) competitions, motorcycling competitions, skating, archery competitions, paintball, fishing (special of children).
Najafzadeh also revealed satisfaction of 82% of travelers visited Aras Free Zone during Norouz and added: “Analysis of the interviews carried out by the Statistic Committee of the Headquarters from 7,623 visitors within the framework of 1,753 different groups, who had been selected randomly, shows that 14% and 4% of the passengers were relatively satisfied and dissatisfied from the services presented during Norouz in Aras Free Zone respectively.
He also added that Travel Welfare Headquarters of Aras Free Zone, with its 15 committees including committees of Planning, Supervising, Accommodating, Publicity and Public Relations, Healthcare and Treatment, Social Affairs, Festivals, Statistics, Urban Services, Logistics, Rescue and Relief, Trade, Guard, Ceremonies and Khoda Afarin Center, presented round-the-clock welfare services to the visitors of this zone as of Esfand 25, 1390 (March 16, 2012).
Secretary of the Travel Welfare Headquarters of Aras Free Zone reiterated: “62 statistic and information dissemination manpower, supervised by the Statistic Committee of Travel Welfare Headquarters, were stationed in four main entrances to the Aras Free Zone located at the 20,000-ha land area of Jolfa and other four entrances, located at Khoda Afarin area, who were responsible for registering the incoming passengers.
Aras Free Zone is located in northwest Iran, zero-point boundary, in the vicinity of countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. The surroundings of this area include 51,000 hectare, comprised of some parts of two cities of Jolfa and Kaleybar.
