International Wildlife Park to Be Constructed in Nordouz of Aras Free Zone
Sadeq Najafi the Head of Aras Free Zone Organization revealed construction of National Wildlife Park in border of Iran and Armenia with the cooperation of Aras Free Zone Organization, the Department of the Environment (DoE) and Armenian side as joint venture.
In his visit with the senior officials and managers of East Azarbaijan Province Department of Environment, he said: “This giant project will be constructed with the cooperation of relevant organizations and Armenian side, as joint venture, with the aim of introducing wildlife reserves of the zone, Public Relations and Intl. Affairs Dept. of Aras Free Zone reported.
While describing beauties of the zone and the facilities designed for the tourists during Norouz 1391 (started March 20, 2012), he emphasized development of tourism industry of Aras Free Zone due to its God-given blessings, resources and unique features and called on senior officials of the province to make their utmost efforts in order to introduce the zone as new tourism hub in the country.
In a press briefing, Raeisi the Director General of E. Azarbaijan Province Department of Environment said: “Representatives have been introduced from Aras Free Zone Organization and the Department of Environment (DoE) to carry out feasibility studies on this park, in which, this project will be constructed in the very near future.”
Turning to the necessity of taking advantage of many environmental potentials of Aras Free Zone and introducing its reserves, he said: “This large park will be constructed in the land of two countries of Iran and Armenia with the aim of safeguarding valuable fauna and flora reserves, introducing wildlife biodiversity in two borders, showcasing ecotourism and tourism potentials in the field of environment, flora and fauna biodiversity as well as displaying all the environmental facilities.
He put forward Arasbaran Protected Area as one of the country’s four-fold wildlife centers and added: “This area has always played a leading role in line with maintaining and safeguarding valuable flora and fauna reserves.”
Also, experts of the Department of Environment and Aras Fee Zone Organization paid a visit to site of the project in border of Iran and Armenia in Nordouz of Aras Free Zone.
