Aras has a say in energy production, construction materials and various industries like processing industries, heavy industries and especially agricultural activities such as greenhouse complexes, mechanized farms and even protein parks. In addition to signing a free trade agreement with Eurasia, there is a golden opportunity for Aras to enter the Eurasian markets.
Aras Free Zone is located in the vicinity of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan along the Aras Border River. This area has long drawn Eurasian merchants and travelers’ attention. Also, the construction of the Jolfa-Tabriz electric railway, which is connected the national railway of the former Soviet Union, is included in the area’s infrastructures.
Along with the above-mentioned factors, proximity to the neighboring countries such as Armenia is a great opportunity for Iran and this special opportunity can be used to speed up development, employment and trade and bring in currency in the face of economic sanctions.
According to the CEO of Aras Free Zone, this zone has reached an almost acceptable level in the field of providing macro-investment infrastructure, including energy, water, gas, communications and access roads in the domestic network, but it is predicted that for different reasons in the post-Corona period, economic activists should pay more attention to the free zones than before and create small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SME)s in order to facilitate the export of goods and the provision of profits and capital for themselves.
According to Eco News, Mohsen Nariman believes that factors that increase investment, especially foreign investment in post-Corona: There is very little information about Aras multidimensional capacities among neighboring countries, and we intend to promote Aras Free Zone in international arena by establishing investment attraction offices and investment consulting firms.
