Arasbaran Forests and Aras Geopark to Be Registered in the World
According to ISNA, Ahmad Hamze zadeh, Deputy Director of Tourism of East Azerbaijan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Dept. stated that the bylaws of the Committee on Nature Tourism and the upcoming programs in the field of nature tourism of the province have been reviewed. “The main mission of the committee is the coordination of inter-institutions in this area”. He said.

Hamzadehzadeh pointed to the high capacity of ecotourism in the province, adding: Special opportunities in the field of nature tourism development of East Azerbaijan should be examined with the special and expert view and necessary planning should be done in this regard.
Emphasizing the necessity of enhancing the tourism share of East Azerbaijan in the country, he said: To advance this position and development of tourism infrastructure of the province, general qualitative and quantitative of tourism indicators should be improved, which will attract investors’ attention to the region.
The Deputy Director of Tourism of East Azarbaijan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism continued to discuss the creation of GeoPark in Aras Free Zone, adding that the natural attractions and water resources (spa springs and dams) of the province are an opportunity to create GeoPark sites in the regions of East Azerbaijan especially the Aras Free Zone.
