According to Aras Free Zone Public Relations and International Affairs, Aras Free Zone Managing Director in this meeting said: “We are committed to strengthening economic ties between Iran and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, due to cultural ties”. “We are very serious about the implementation of the agreements made during the visits of the officials of the two countries”, Nariman added.
Referring to the visits to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic's production units, he emphasized: Most of the raw materials of Nakhchivan's production units come from Iran, especially the East and West Azerbaijan provinces, and the desire of Nakhchivan authorities and private sector for economic relations with Iran is very high.
Nariman said that serious planning has been done for joint tourism tours between Iran and Nakhchivan and they will be operational in the near future.
The Consul General of Iran in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic also said: with the conversations I've had with Vasif Talibov, the Speaker of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan has a very positive view about Iran and the Nakhchivan authorities are calling for broad economic relations with Iran.
Seyyed Ahmad Hosseini, referring to the geographical location of Nakhchivan, added: Nakhchivan's proximity to Iran and Turkey has caused more attention of the Azerbaijan's central government to this autonomous republic.
After this visit, the new Iranian Consul General in the Nakhchivan Republic visited active industrial and agricultural units in Aras.
