Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic to Iran: A Special Group Considering Abolishment of Visa for Iranian Travellers
On the sidelines of visiting Jolfa Border Bridge in Iranian border with Nakhchivan in Aras Free Zone, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic said, “A special group is considering the abolishment of visa requirements for Iranian citizens and we are hopeful and optimistic to solve this issue in near future.”
Heading a delegation from Azerbaijan Republic and welcomed by the Economic and Investment Deputy of Aras Free Zone, Javanshir Akhundov entered Iran and asserted in a meeting with the managers of this zone, “The government of Azerbaijan is interested in developing its relations and ties with Iran and abolishment of visa, which was the result of some issues between these two countries, is to the benefit of both countries.”
At this meeting, the Economic and Investment Deputy of Aras Free Zone considered the abolishment of visa as the demand of both Iranian and Azerbaijani people and pointed out, “The common historical and cultural background and interests and the commonalities between the two countries, especially the family relationships between border residents of this region and Nakhchivan have been important factors in the development and deepening of relations between the two countries.”
“Nakhchivan Airport near this region can provide a good capacity for foreign investors and businesspeople interested in investing in this region”, Aliyar Rastgou mentioned.
