Relations between Aras and Nakhchivan will increase/ strategic plans to boost business and attract tourists will be developed

According to the public relations and international affairs of the Aras Free Zone Organization, Majid Kayani met with the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan on Tuesday afternoon, saying that increasing Aras' international interactions is on the agenda of this organization, and stated: trade exchanges and the amount of exports of Aras to countries of the Caucasus region should be expanded beyond the current level, and this is possible with the support of the diplomatic system and the maximum use of existing capacities, especially the revival of the North-South corridor.

He added: Aras Free Zone has a special place among the country's free zones and its trade balance is positive. The export of the region is more than the import and we must maintain this trend.

The CEO of Aras Free Zone Organization called for the role of Iranian diplomats in Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan to revive the North-South Corridor and turn Jolfa into a transit center of the Northwest.

“A strategic and operational plan for increasing the relations of Aras Free Zone with Nakhchivan should be developed and based on the specific planning of the realization of these plans, it should be followed up and implemented”, he continued.

Discussing the revival of the North-South Corridor, Ahmad Hosseini, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan, listed the health tourism as one of Iran's capacities in attracting the citizens of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.

He called scientific, tourism, and sports cooperation, holding joint competitions and increasing environmental interactions among other things that are effective in strengthening Aras' relations with Nakhchivan.
