Activation of North-South Corridor in Cooperation with Free Zones of Iran-Russia
A joint meeting to activate the North-South International Corridor focusing on the Iran-Russia Free Zones was held in the presence of Saeed Mohammad, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones, and a group of Russian government economic managers at the Secretariat.

The meeting was held to present solutions and proposals of the Iranian and Russian sides in order to accelerate the launch of the North-South International Corridor, as well as to attract investment and develop the Caspian port as soon as possible, Aras Free Zone Public Relations & Intl. Affairs reported.
Emphasizing the cooperation of the two sides for beefing up the process of launching the North-South corridor the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones said: “Given the common goals of Iran and Russia in the economic and security fields, we can cover the process of accelerating this cooperation together as two neighboring countries”.
Establishment of a joint trade office, application of the same customs tariffs and formation of a consortium, the solution of activating the north-south corridor and utilizing the capacity of free zones in economic convergence and bilateral international development of Iran and its neighbors were also put up at the meeting.
